Colors and Effects

Bitgrain is designed around a specific "lo-fi" aesthetic. The Studio provides tools to help you achieve this look through color control and texture effects.

Color Palettes

Instead of just picking any color, the Studio works best with curated palettes. In the right panel, you can choose from several built-in color schemes:

You can also set custom colors for each layer. To maintain the Bitgrain look, we recommend using high-contrast colors so the dithering pattern stays visible.

Background Grain

You can add a grain texture to the entire canvas from the Background settings.

Dithering Layers

Images added to the Studio can be dithered individually. When you select an image layer, you will see a Dither button in the properties panel.

Opacity and Blending

Every layer has an Opacity slider. For a more complex look, you can also change the Blend Mode (like Multiply, Screen, or Overlay). This is particularly useful for adding textures or logos on top of dithered images.
