Welcome to Bitgrain

Bitgrain is a tool for making art with pixels. It uses old school computer techniques like dithering to turn your modern photos into textured, graphic images.

How to use these docs

We have split the documentation into two main parts to help you find what you need:

  1. Image Editor: This is the main screen where you upload a photo and play with textures, colors, and patterns. It is perfect for quick, beautiful edits.
  2. The Studio: This is where you go to build complex designs. If you want to make an album cover, a poster, or a layout with text and shapes, the Studio is for you.

Our Philosophy

We believe that digital art should feel tactile. By limiting the colors and resolution of an image, we can create something that feels more human and more permanent.
