Invite everyone to your griha pravesh

Make a griha pravesh or vastu shanti invitation in Hindi, Marathi or English, sized for WhatsApp and for print.

Start from one of these

Every text box takes Devanagari, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gurmukhi and Urdu fonts, so the invite can be in the language your relatives read.

A griha pravesh invite has one job: tell people when the puja starts and how to find a house they have never been to. Most cards bury both under decoration. Here is what to include, some wording you can borrow, and the sizes that work on a phone and on paper.

What to put on the invitation

A blessing at the top, such as ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥ or a small kalash, mango leaf toran or swastik motif. Then the occasion: गृह प्रवेश, वास्तु शांति, or in Marathi वास्तुशांती आणि गृहप्रवेश. If you are also doing a Satyanarayan puja, mention it, because it tells guests roughly how long the morning will run.

The date and the muhurat, and separately the time you would like guests to arrive, since the havan often starts earlier than most visitors need to be there. Then the meal: prasad, lunch or dinner, with timing.

The new address in full, with the flat number, building or society name, a landmark, and a short Google Maps link. In a new building the gate, the tower and the lift can all be confusing, so a line like Tower B, take the lift near the clubhouse saves a lot of calls.

Finally, the hosts' names and one contact number. Families often sign with both generations, for example the parents and the couple who bought the home.

Wording you can borrow

English: With the blessings of the Almighty, we invite you to the Griha Pravesh of our new home. Please join us for the puja and stay for lunch.

Change these freely. The best invitations sound like the people sending them.

Sizes for WhatsApp and print

Most griha pravesh invites are sent on WhatsApp now. A 1080 by 1350 portrait image looks like a card in the chat. A 1080 by 1920 image fills the screen and works as a status update. If the small address text looks blurry after sending, send the file as a document so WhatsApp does not compress it.

If you want a few printed cards for elders or neighbours, 5 by 7 inches is a common, inexpensive size. Keep text away from the edges because the cards are trimmed, and export a PDF for the printer.

Using the templates here

The block print toran invitation above is made for griha pravesh, with a card size page and a WhatsApp size page. The housewarming and festival invitations next to it have the same shape: a motif at the top, a clear title, and a block for date, time and address.

Change the colours to marigold, maroon or leaf green, type the occasion in Hindi or Marathi, and drop in a photo of the house if you like.

Common questions

Can I make a griha pravesh invitation for free?

Yes. Every template opens and edits on the free plan. Free exports carry a small watermark and are capped at 1080 pixels, which is enough for WhatsApp. Pro exports at full resolution.

Can I write it in Hindi or Marathi?

Yes. The studio includes Devanagari fonts such as Martel, Eczar, Laila and Yatra One. Type with a Hindi or Marathi keyboard, or paste your wording.

Can I add a Google Maps link?

You can type a short maps link as text on the invite. Images on WhatsApp are not clickable, so also paste the link in the message you send with it.

Is this an AI invitation generator?

No. Bitgrain has no generative AI. You start from a layered template and edit every word yourself.
