Presentation mode

Present your Studio pages as a full-screen slideshow, straight from the editor, with animated pages playing live. There is nothing to export first: the slides are rendered from your current project the moment you start.

Presentation mode is handy for pitch decks built from the pitch deck templates, for walking a client through poster options, or for showing a carousel in order before you post it.

Starting a presentation

Click the play icon (Present (fullscreen)) near the right end of the Studio top bar, just before the export button.

The presentation fills the browser window on a black background. To take over the whole screen, press F or click the expand icon in the top right corner. Browsers do not allow a page to go full screen on its own, so this one extra step is needed.

ActionHow
Next slideRight arrow, Space, click anywhere on the slide, or the right arrow button
Previous slideLeft arrow or the left arrow button
Toggle full screenF or the expand / shrink icon in the top right
Leave the presentationEsc (when not in full screen) or the X in the top right

The previous button is hidden on the first slide and the next button on the last one. Going past the last slide does nothing, so a stray click at the end won't close your deck.

When you are in full screen, the first press of Esc only leaves full screen (that is the browser's own behaviour). Press Esc again to leave the presentation.

A counter at the bottom center shows your position, for example 3 / 12. It only appears when the project has more than one page.

Animated slides

Any page with a timeline of two or more frames plays its animation automatically when you reach it. In presentation mode animations always loop, so a slide keeps moving for as long as you stay on it, even if the page's own Loop setting is off.

An animated slide gets an extra button at the bottom center:

If you stop a slide and come back to it later, it may still be stopped. Press Play to start it again.

Tip: Keep animated slides short and looping (two to four seconds) so they look intentional whenever you arrive on them, rather than caught halfway through a one-time move.

How slides are rendered

Still pages are rendered once at their full page size the first time you visit them, then reused, so flipping back and forth is instant after the first pass. You may see Loading… briefly on a heavy page the first time.

Animated pages are drawn frame by frame while they play. A page with many effect layers or large images can play back less smoothly than its exported video. If a slide stutters, export that page as MP4 from the timeline instead and show the video.

Each slide is scaled to fit the screen without cropping. Pages with a different shape from your screen get black bars at the sides or top and bottom.

Preparing a deck

  1. Build each slide as its own page. Use the same page size for all of them so the slides don't jump in scale. The landscape 16:9 preset (1920 by 1080) matches most screens and projectors.
  2. Put your pages in presentation order. See pages and frames.
  3. Use a design kit so headings and colors match across slides.
  4. Add animation only where it helps the story, a title reveal or a product turning into view.
  5. Select page one, click present, then press F.

Sharing a deck afterwards

Presentation mode is live only. To send the deck to someone, export it from the Studio export panel with All pages and Single PDF, or as a ZIP of images. See Studio exporting.
