Billing and refunds

How paying for Bitgrain Pro works: Razorpay and PayPal, the 12 currencies, where to find receipts, the 10-year licence term, and the refund policy, including the 7-day window and how to ask for a refund.

Bitgrain sells one thing: a one-time Pro licence that covers ten years. There are no subscriptions, so nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. For what Pro includes and how the free trial works, see plans and pricing. For the current price in your currency, see the pricing page.

Payment providers

Bitgrain uses two payment providers and never sees or stores your card details.

ProviderUsed forHow it works
RazorpayIndian rupees (INR) and UAE dirhams (AED)A secure Razorpay window opens over the checkout page. The pay button reads Pay with Razorpay.
PayPalAll other supported currenciesYou finish on PayPal's own page and then come straight back to Bitgrain. The pay button reads Pay with PayPal.

The checkout always tells you which one it will use before you pay, both on the button and in the line underneath it.

You must be signed in to pay, so the licence is attached to your account the moment the payment goes through. If you are signed out, the pay button takes you to sign in first and then back to the checkout.

Currencies

The checkout starts in Indian rupees if you are in India and in US dollars everywhere else. You can switch at any time from the Paying in menu at the top of the checkout page.

Each currency has its own fixed price, set in that currency rather than converted on the day. Displayed prices include applicable taxes unless the page says otherwise. Your bank or card issuer may still add its own foreign exchange fee if you pay in a currency that is not your card's. Those fees are outside Bitgrain's control and are not refundable.

Coupons

Enter a coupon in the Coupon code field on the checkout and click Apply before you pay. The price updates straight away. A code that covers the full price makes the licence free, and codes sent to you by email may also work through the redeem page. See coupons and redeem codes.

Receipts

Every payment appears on your account page under Billing history, with its date, a description (the Pro licence shows as "Pro, 10-year license") and the amount in the currency you paid in.

To get a receipt:

  1. Open the account page.
  2. Find the payment under Billing history.
  3. Click the download button in the Receipt column (on a phone, the download button beside the payment).

The receipt is a PDF with your name and email, the provider that took the payment (Razorpay or PayPal, or "Promo code" for a free redeem), a payment reference, the description with the 10-year licence term, and the total paid. Keep the reference handy if you ever need to contact support about a payment. Your payment provider may also email you its own confirmation.

The licence term

The licence belongs to your Bitgrain account and follows you on any device you sign in on. It ends early only if it is revoked for a breach of the terms or if you delete your account.

Refund policy

This is a plain summary of the refund policy. The policy page is the one that counts if the two ever differ.

Bitgrain is a digital product that is delivered instantly, and the free tier lets you test everything first. The best way to avoid needing a refund is to try the free plan, or the 7-day trial, on the device you will use.

When you can get a refund

SituationRefundable?
You ask within 7 days of buying and have not yet exported a watermark-free or full-resolution fileYes, in full, to the original payment method
You were charged but Pro was never activatedYes, in full
You were charged more than once for the same purchaseYes, the duplicate charges in full
A paid feature was unavailable for a sustained period because of a confirmed fault on Bitgrain's sidePossibly, as a term extension or a partial refund, decided case by case

When you cannot

SituationWhy
You have already exported a watermark-free or full-resolution file (PNG, SVG, MP4 or .btg) that you keepThe value of the licence has been delivered
The licence was bought with a launch discount or coupon and any clean or full-resolution export has been madeDiscounted purchases follow the same rule and say so up front
Currency conversion fees charged by your card issuer or payment providerThese are not charged by Bitgrain
Taxes already paid to a tax authority, where the law does not allow them backThese are no longer held by Bitgrain

Nothing in the policy limits any consumer rights you have by law where you live. If your local law gives you a broader right to a refund, that right applies.

How to ask for a refund

Email the support address on the contact page from the email address on your Bitgrain account, and include:

What happens next:

  1. Your request is acknowledged within 2 business days.
  2. Eligible refunds are processed within 7 business days of that acknowledgement.
  3. The money goes back to the original payment method. Razorpay refunds usually settle in 5 to 10 business days and PayPal refunds in 3 to 5 business days. Bank holidays, currency conversion and your bank's own processing can make it longer.

Failed or duplicate payments

If a payment fails, the licence is simply not activated and you are not charged.

If you were charged but Pro did not switch on, or you were charged twice, email support with the transaction ID. These are always fixed or refunded, and they are handled as a priority. Before you do, check paid but still see the watermark for the quick checks, since a reload often fixes it.

Chargebacks

Please get in touch before you file a chargeback with your bank. A billing problem is almost always resolved faster by email. Filing a chargeback first can lead to the account being suspended while the payment provider investigates, and confirmed fraudulent chargebacks can lead to the account being closed.
